Description

This micro-credential aims to develop the foundational oral communication competencies required for students pursuing careers in translation and interpreting. It focuses on active listening, discourse analysis, reformulation, paraphrasing, non-verbal communication, and intercultural communication. By the end of the activity, learners will be able to critically analyse and synthesise oral discourse, reformulate spoken content, apply non-verbal communication strategies, demonstrate advanced active listening skills, and engage in collaborative interpreting-related practice.

Target group

Bachelor students specialising in Translation and/or Interpreting, or related fields (Level 6 EQF)

Number of participants

Minimum: 30 total (10 per linguistic pair) / Maximum: 60 total (20 per linguistic pair)

Prerequisites

Applicants must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s programme with a specialisation in Translation and/or Interpreting, or a related field. Applicants must also demonstrate proficiency in their B language at a minimum level of B2 or equivalent.
